Porsche 944 to 968 Rear Hatch Separated Glass Repair
Some Facts The reason for a squeaky hatch, is faulty paint to which the glass-to metal frame glue was applied to. This paint has dried and separated from the glass creating what we call today "Delamination". Looking through the glass, you can see the paint peeling. The paint was originally intended to hide glue line imperfections. If top of your hatch has separated from the metal frame, it would make squeaky noise and leak water, plus ruin the paper-backed roll bar roof panel, as well as side panel with quarter window. 9xauto Offers Do It Your Self Solution.

However, to finish the job you need special Mylar film. This film is critically necessary to complete your repair by applying cut-up strips to the top and the sides of the hatch's glass to hide repaired areas from the view (see picture below). This hair-line-thick film is virtually indestructible for the out door elements. It does not rip of shrink even with age. If properly applied to the glass hatch, it could even full a concourse judge.
We will send you a strip of deep gloss black Mylar film aprox. 36” X 5” and instructions on how to repair your rear hatch. The Mylar you receive, will be enough to repair one hatch.
