Tools required; Philips-head screwdriver, white cotton or surgical gloves (for keeping components grease free), alcohol swabs and pliers.
The repair on the scale from 1 to 10 is 5. If you ever took apart any quartz watch, you are qualified for the task. The whole job is to remove metal cage from the circuit board which holds the LCD panel in place. Pliers are needed to un-bend the pegs of the metal cage so it can be separated from the circuit board. Alcohol swabs are needed to clean contacts. That is all.
P.S. Changing the "Color Film" inside the metal cage to a different color, will change the color of the segments on the display.
NOTE: After properly completed repair, you should have a bright and clear display with fully active segments. Certain icons such as vent, recirculation and up/down arrows are slightly bolder than the original.
DO NOT WAIT FOR THE LCD TO BE SOLD OUT! HAVE A SPARE ONE. THIS LCD IS A "CUSTOM MADE" AND WILL NOT BE MANUFACTURED FOREVER.
