Fuel Injected 2.0 Air box replacement system. Fits snugly under the rain tray
In this 914-2.0 1.7 1.8 fuel injected system, we used standard PVC elbow with installed barb fittings. Apparently, the K&N filter has a perfect diameter match with PVC elbow. This is one of our most successful items in our 914 inventory. The above intake, will replace the large metal air box of 2.0 with K&N oval-tapered Filtercharger. Our system attaches directly to the throttle body of 2.0 All air dependent hoses will be connected to the barb fittings on the PVC elbow. Breather attachment is not supplied due to many individual configurations. However, if you do not believe that pvc piping should be a part of your intake, then go to your local auto store and observe air intake products that are all chromed plastic. At least we are honest about it. We recommend painting this pipe black for more uniformed look.
DISCLAIMER: 9xauto did not Dyno this modification. No do we claim more HP gain. However, this air system is the result of our struggle to gain extra seconds on AX. Large metal air box was heating up an incoming air sucked through the paper filter, in to the throttle body the size of the silver dollar. More we drove, hotter the box got, worst our 914 was responding. So we removed the box. The throttle body had to be capped with something.
